2019: Year In Review

20 Year AnniversaryIP Access Celebrates 20 Years

What a twenty years it has been!Ā  When we started the company in 1999 the Internet was very new and our mission was to help foreign countries reach back to the US backbone via satellite in order to deliver Internet services to their populations.Ā  Now you know why we are called IP Access.

September 11, 2001 changed all of us forever and it also changed our mission.Ā  I am very proud of our dedicated team who strive to provide communication solutions to those who protect and save lives.Ā  We have been blessed with the best customers and partners in the world and we look forward to the next decade serving our amazing customers.

New Year, New Gateway – Las Cruces, New Mexico

IP Access has always had multiple satellite gateways providing the redundancies our customers demand and now we are adding to our infrastructure providing our customers multiple options to deliver and land their voice, video and data traffic.Ā

We expect many new projects to leverage this facility in 2020 and beyond.Ā  The geographic location and weather makes this one of the best places for satellite communications in the United States.

Growing Community

2019 continued to be a successful year for us as we boosted the IPA community to over 750 agencies, including police, fire, sheriff, national guard, critical infrastructure, and emergency response teams.

Day At The Races

In July, we hosted our annual ā€œDay at the Racesā€ customer event in Del Mar, CA. This event always provides a great opportunity to connect with our customers and partners in a casual and fun setting, and it never hurts if a few bets pay off.Ā

Sponsor at CA Mobile Command Center & SUSAR

For several years, IP Access has proudly sponsored both the CA Mobile Command Center Rally and the State Urban Search and Rescue Alliance Conference. We love nothing more than getting behind events that are near and dear to our hearts and showing our support for public safety and first responder communities. We look forward to sponsoring these events for years to come.

Harrier Upgrades

In September, our Harrier Rapid Communications Terminal integrated the iDirect iQ 200 Board and the latest EvolutionĀ® software release, iDX 4.1.3, enabling the Harrier to achieve higher throughput and greater efficiency, with VSAT services run on Layer 2 over Satellite (L2oS). By having the iQ 200 Board teamed up with the IP Access Select satellite network, first response teams can rest assured they have reliable communications no matter where they go. FUSION

2019 brought the launch of our Fusion line of products. Fusion is the blending of LTE and Satellite into a single integrated form factor allowing for the optimal performance of all accessible networks without the need to reconfigure the device. Today the Fusion line includes the Harrier and our 1RU mobile command vehicle terminal. Look forward to more innovation and products in 2020 as we continue to improve the user experience for our customers.

State of Texas Contract

With our partner, Comprehensive Communication Services, we are very proud to announce that the State of Texas has awarded us a new four-year contract to continue to provide the State satellite service and hardware and Mutualink service through 2023 for all of its mobile satellite assets and command centers. We were the incumbent vendor for the past 4 years, but the entire project had to be rebid. This multi-million dollar contract will ensure that the State has satellite service to all of its mobile command centers to provide internet service, hosted dial tone, off-grid RedPHONE service, and Mutualink for the next 4 years.
